Lush Lacquer- Clowning Around layered on top of Illimasqua- Nomad
Lush Lacquer is sticking with the nail polish trends in the indie world, and made some neon polishes! They released these shortly after their Valentines and Spring Collection (which I plan on doing swatches of). They made 4 standard creme/jelly polishes with neon glitter mixed together, and this beauty, which I don't think I have seen before. It is JUST the neon glitter in a semi clear base, I feel like it is tinted slightly pink. I don't feel like I need to stalk down all the restocks of Jindie and Wicked Polish because with this polish in my stash, I can make never ending combos! My wallet is happy.
Not only are they releasing more amazing polishes, but they got a new bottle, and brush:
Like my ghetto rigged light box? It is simply printer paper against the window! But I really wanted to do a full review and compare the bottles. I really liked the old bottle. I love their logo and the stickers, it makes it feel hand made. But I am not complaining about their new bottles! I really like the new longer, textured bottle cap. It makes it much easier to grab and open. And their logo is still adorable.
Onto the brush comparison:
As you can see, it is much wider! Words from Lush Lacquer themselves on these brushes, "These brushes are the same size but they are flat instead of round and they grab the glitter VERY well." They pretty much nailed that description. When I swatched all the new ones I got on my nail wheels, I already saw a huge difference. I never really had a problem grabbing glitter with the old brushes, but this new brush makes it 1000 times easier to actually apply it since it is so wide. What will these ladies do next?!

You can purchase Lush Lacquer on Etsy for $9 USD. And for my international friends, you can find them on Llarowe, but the neons aren't on there yet. I thought they were on Harlow & Co, but it looks like they aren't anymore? You can also find them on Mei Mei's Signatures HERE, but they don't have the neons yet, either.
What do you think? I plan on swatching and reviewing all my 20+ Lush Lacquer babies soon, but still haven't committed to that yet. I plan on doing it in different categories, like Halloween, Mattes, Valentines, etc. Hope you enjoyed this!

DeleteI love Lush Lacquer. They always have such beautiful glitter polishes. It looks to me from the close up shot of the clear base with neon glitters, that the blue glitters have bled though. Wonderful review though. I loved the brush comparison between the old and new bottles.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you read the whole review :). Sometimes I feel like I am just talking to myself on here! Maybe the blue did bleed through, they have a weird pattern to them...
Delete~I am just wondering if you had any issues with removal? I understand that (matte or otherwise) glitter is glitter & will always be somewhat irritating to remove, despite the many methods ppl come up with. But I wore this almost a month ago, & even tho I've worn many polishes since then/cut/filed/ect on my nails...there is still, somehow, pieces of neon glitter strewn about underneath the free edge of my nails! I don't even know how they got there to start with, & I suppose I'm gonna have to soak them in acetone & scrape the pieces away (I hate acetone). Being my first matte glitter, I thought it would be easier to remove, but it seems much harder tho! Did you experience any problems as well (or was it just me, lol)??! Tyia!
ReplyDeleteI don't remember having trouble getting it off. This was a while ago so it is hard to remember! Have you tried the foil method? That is my go to method for all glitters, and is pretty much fail proof for me! I use zoya remove too.
Delete~I do normally use the foil method, but I have been trying to give my nails/cuticles/skin a much needed break from the acetone, so I did not use it for this polish. Maybe that's what the problem was! I suppose I could try it again & use that method, except use normal remover in place of the acetone. Idk if that'd get the job done tho honestly. Lol, nail polish problems! ;) I really love this mix of neon's & was super excited to get it, I felt like I was getting a good taste for the whole collection w/o actually having to buy the whole collection! Also thought I'd be using it a lot this summer, but now I'm not so sure. Another question, I found my bottle has gotten goopy after just one use, do you think it'd hurt the glitter any to use a lil thinner on it?
