Halloween Themed Drip Manicure

I have only done a few Halloween themed nails this year, and they are all purple and green themed for some reason. These are pretty simple, just an indie polish, topped with drip tips:

I loooove this polish!

The polish on bottom is Glam Polish- Frankenslime 2014. It is a re-release from last year, but I believe it is a different formulation and slightly different in colors. I am not too sure, around this time last year Glam Polishes were fairly hard to get for us American's. This is a slightly holo green base, with tiny matte green and purple glitters sprinkled in. I love it!

Then I just did the drips using a dotting tool, and the color is OPI- Do You Have This Color in Stockholm? (OPI Nordic Collection Fall 2014). It looks a little darker in these pictures than it does in person, but all in all fairly easy to work with.

Inspire Me Monday

I have had this planned for a while, so lets get right to it!

I was obviously inspired by the adorable boxes Lime Crime's polishes come in!

This was the first time I sponged a gradient with more than 2 colors. Man it gave me some trouble! But at least my picture taking hand turned out nice, my other hand is just awful!

I started out with a base color of China Glaze- Light As Air. I love this color. I want to wear it on its own soon! It is the perfect pastel lavender color. Then I used the same color as the lightest sponging color, along with Illimasqua- Jo 'Mina for the medium purple shade, and Anise- Violet Falls in Love for the darkest shade. I was afraid these colors would be to inaccurate, but they turned out to be pretty much dead on!

You can find Lime Crime polishes HERE for $5.99. The only place I have ever found Anise polishes are at DSW stores at the registers. They are really nice polishes!

Inspire Me Monday

I wasn't feeling too inspired for today's manicure, so instead I just looked for some new nail art techniques to try on pinterest. I found a bunch of drip manicures, which I really like since it is a fun twist to the french manicure. And I got inspiration for the colors from my bedroom:

My room is still pretty high school, so every single wall is a different color. So i chose to use colors that represent the blue and green walls that are next to each other. I also wanted to show case what Jennifer Green is! The green is China Glaze- Def Defying from the Cirque Du Soleil collection. This is my all time favorite color, ever. And I am so happy I finally own a Jennifer Green polish from China Glaze! I have so many, it is pretty much the only color I will buy dupes of because I love it that much. The blue is Finger Paints- Winter Sky. I used this because it is a very thick opaque color, so it worked pretty well for this nail art design.

The way I made the drips was by using a medium sized dotting tool. I made a dot where I wanted the drip to end, and made a thick line dragging it towards the tip of my nail. Then I just filled in the tips and connected the drips to one another. My favorite nails are my pinky and index finger, mainly because the drips are more consistent.

Kelly from devilish-polish hasn't posted hers yet, but make sure to check hers out if she posts one later! She made this awesome banner, too
