Nail Art Using Rescue Beauty Lounge

Rescue Beauty Lounge had a 50% off sale a few months ago, so of course I took advantage of that! I had one of their colors on my wishlist for a few years, but I just can't see myself paying $20 on a polish.... RBL colors are super gorgeous and have always been praised over their formulas too, and I was very impressed! I picked up three colors, and they all compliment each other very well, so I thought what the heck, let's use them all at once!

Sorry for the weird tip wear... I took these photos after wearing them for 2 days since there was no sunlight to work with, and since I work with isopropyl alcohol a lot at work, it totally shrunk the tips off! So I had to do a little touch ups...

The main green I used is Rescue Beauty Lounge- Abi (Gomm). I am a little confused by the name since the website says "Abi (gomm)" but the name on my polish box has the "(gomm)" clearly marked off. Anyways, This polish is freakin amazing!! It was nearly once coat, and went on like butter. Unfortunately the amazing shimmer you see in the bottle doesn't translate to the nail much. I used two coats and this is still available!

The green I used for the half moons was added to my cart last second. It is Rescue Beauty Lounge- Turn It Around. The shimmer in the bottle shot just got me, and it totally translates to the nail! It is an army green base loaded with a copper shimmer, gorgeous. It is a little on the sheer side so I had to apply a fairly thick coat when doing the half moons. Unfortunately it looks like this color is no longer available, so I am happy I got it!

Lastly, the glitter was the one that was on my wishlist forever. It is Rescue Beauty Lounge- Locavore I love my glitters and saw Scrangie swatch it years ago and have wanted it ever since. It is a really awesome glitter, very dense, but doesn't clump up when you are working with it! It mainly consists of green, purple, and blue glitters, my top three favorite colors. This is still available as well!

Nail Art Using Superchic Lacquer

I mentioned in my last post that my next post was going to be nail art using the other two polishes I got from Superchic Lacquer. It is very simple, but nice to look at

These glitters are both from the winter 2013 Sleigh Ride Wonderland Collection.

The blue is Superchic Lacquer- Morphamas and the green is Superchic Lacquer- Whoville. They are are both pretty thin jelly bases, so they required three coats. Glitter pay off was very nice though!

Then I just added some stripes on the two middle fingers using Essie- Pretty Edgy.

It looks like these aren't available on Superchic Lacquer's Etsy anymore, but the polish I wore last time is available again!

Simple Swatch: Wonder Beauty Products/ Superchic Lacquer

I saw this brand pop up randomly on my Instagram feed around the holidays last year. I was instantly hooked and had an idea of a bunch of polishes I wanted to get from them, but I was really good and refrained from buying too many polishes around the holidays. Now I have been going crazy and just buying like crazy, and finally picked some up! Here is one from their newest collection:

Superchic Lacquer- Fuchsure Drive Me Insane (The Gaslighted Collection Spring 2014)

LOOK AT THAT SHIMMER!

I saw Misshollyberries review this collection a few weeks ago and died. Mainly over this shade, which is the only polish I picked up from this collection

The shimmers in this are very reminiscent of Takko Lacquer which are pretty much impossible to get your hands on. It is a fuchsia base loaded with blue and silver glass fleck shimmer, and that's really all there is to it, yet it is so freakin gorgeous. I used two coats, and the formula was flawless, and it dried super fast! I was going to do a glitter gradient with it, but I was just overwhelmed by the beauty of it on its own that I left it as is.

Another thing about this brand is they have the coolest bottles! I have never seen bottles like this:

It looks the same on the other side as well.

The brush is also amazing too, very wide and semi short, so it is easy to work with.

My next post will by the other two polishes I got from them which were from a previous collection, so keep a look out for that!

It looks like this is currently out of stock on their Etsy, but hopefully it will be back soon!

Serum No5 + OPI Ombre

I guess this "ombre" is more like half a rainbow, whatever. Serum No5 is known for their glow in the dark polishes, and I have yet to try them out until now! Unfortunately I failed at getting decent pictures of the glow effect, luckily there are plenty of god pictures on the internet. Here it is in its normal polish state:

Serum No5- Yule Light Up My Life (Limited Edition Holiday Trio Winter 2013)

This polish is a mixture of pretty much every color of the rainbow but it seems there are much more green and red, obviously since it is a Christmas polish. The formula was very good, A LOT of glitter pay off. I like that even though it is a glow in the dark polish, it doesn't leave a milky cast on the polishes like a lot of other glow in the dark polishes.

I layered it over all OPI polishes, primarily from the new Brazil collection. Here are the names from the index to the pinky:

OPI- Toucan Do It If You Try (Brazil Collection Spring 2014)
OPI- Where Did Suzi's Mango? (Brazil Collection 2014)
OPI- I Just Can't Cope-Acabana (Brazil Collection 2014)
OPI- Did It On 'Em (Nicki Minaj Collection Spring 2012)

I loved all three of these Brazil colors, especially the yellow! Finally a good yellow from OPI! Still not as good as my Lime Crime Yellow, but it isn't the same shade. All polishes were two easy coats.

You can still get this Serum No5 polish along with the other 2 polishes from Polished by KPT and Lacquer Lust on Serum No5's website for just $25!

Simple Swatch: Glam Polish

Here is a simple swatch of a Glam Polish I got a while ago. This brand exploded last year and are still going strong, and luckily they ship to the US! Although I feel like I can't keep up with the collections they release. They release a new collection like every two months!

Glam Polish- Juggling Jupiter

Sorry for the weird parks on my nails. I painted these at night and went to work the next morning before taking pictures. It looks like some animal hair imprinted on my nails!

I used one generous coat over two coats of Orly- Lollipop. It didn't require any fishing and was really easy to work with!

Unfortunately it looks like this isn't available anymore, but you can get their polish on their Website

More Holographic Fishtail French Tips

You are probably getting tired of seeing these, just as much as my half moons. But when you find something you like, you can't stop. It hasn't been raining here in the Bay Area anymore, so I took advantage of that and wore some holos I recently hauled!

THAT GREEN! Probably my new favorite green holographic polish.

I believe I used two coats of the base color, which is Ooh La Lacquer- Complimint 2.0. I am not too sure what Complimint 1.0 looked like but I am happy with 2.0! The periwinkle shade on my tips is Ooh La Lacquer- Twinkle Twinkle Periwinkle. I got a bunch more holos from this brand recently that you will hopefully see soon. You can get both of these plus some other amazing holos on Oh La Lacquer's Etsy

Lastly, the darker green/teal color on my tips is Different Dimension- Mistle-Toad (Happy Holly Days Collection 2013). The way I used it doesn't show it's really beauty. It has a really strong purple shimmer/duochrome running through it that has to be seen on the entire nail!

Emily de Molly + Glitter Gradient

It has been over a week since my last post... I have been doing my nails, just no time to edit photos and stuff. I have about three posts lined up after this, when they go up, I don't know! Finals are next week so hopefully after that I can do my nails like everyday during spring break! Here is what I did nearly a week ago:

I haven't been too inspired for interesting nail art lately... It is nice to just wear a beautiful indie by itself since it is quick and easy, but not just one boring polish on your fingers.

The main polish is Emily de Molly- Hole in the Sky. A gorgeous periwinkle shade packed with tiny holographic silver glitters, small darker periwinkle and white glitters, large white hexes, and of course the large white circles! Application was a breeze as always with Emily de Molly polishes, except the circles did require some fishing, not much though.

My ring finger has 2 coats of Essie- Bikini so Teeny. This polish is part of their permanent line now. And the glitter is Essie- Stroke of Brilliance (Luxe Effects collection 2012). I haven't done a glitter gradient in a while, so this one is not my best....

Hopefully I will have the next manicure I did after this up tomorrow! It is a good one!

Textured Rainbow Halfmoons

I did something similar to this a while ago, only I didn't use textured polishes. You can see it HERE. Let's get to it:

I will just list the colors starting from the thumb to the pinky, starting with the holographics:

Emily de Molly- Seeing Red
Dollish Polish- This Sh*t is Bananas
Nubar- Reclaim
Jade- Mirage
Emily de Molly- Devotion

Each were two coats, amazing formulas. Although the Dollish Polish was on the thick side, kind of hard to work with. But still a really pretty holo!

Onto the textured colors:

OPI- Magazine Cover Mouse (Couture de Minnie Collection 2013)
OPI- Jinx (James Bond Girls Collection 2013)
Kiko- 643 Spring Green (Sugar Mat Collection 2013)
Zoya- Liberty (Summer Pixiedust Collection 2013)
Zoya- Carter ((Fall Pixiedust Collection 2013)

All were just one thick coat

Color Club- The Uptown

I almost didn't post this polish, but I got somewhat decent pictures and this polish is way too gorgeous not to share. I felt like this polish would have gotten a lot of love when it came out, but surprisingly no one went crazy. Probably because Color Club isn't the most accessible nail band out there? My polish shop has been really lagging on getting polish collections lately, and The Girl About Town of course never came in. Luckily I got this in my last swap! Here it is:

Sunlight

The last three were taken in the shade (kind of)

Two coats of Color Club- The Uptown (Girl About Town Collection Fall 2013) Layered over one coat of OPI- Sapphire in the Snow (Holiday Wishes Collection 2009)

This polish has so much flakies in it, it is ridiculous! It is really easy to work with, although the light purple shade is kind of sheer for my liking, so I went ahead and layered it over a complimentary color. The flakies in it look like a shift from red-orange-green, kind of like Essie Shine of the Times.

Next time I wear it I will definitely mattify it!

Lacquer of Leave Her has a great comparison post between this and the coveted Nfu Oh No 51. After looking at the comparison, I'd say I prefer the Color Club, but I will always keep my Nfu Oh Boobie bottles.

Pipedream Polish- Mcpolish Awesomesauce

This polish was released a few months ago by Pipedream Polish. It was limited edition, but the maker kept on restocking it in small quantities due to high demand. I was never able to snag it until the very last restock. This polish is a thermal, and she did mention she will be re releasing it again, only in a regular polish form. I could not for the life of me get the thermal affect to show :(. My first thermal polish, and I managed to mess it up.... Anyways, here it is:

Pipedream Polish- Mcpolish Awesomesauce

I used the polish on just my index and middle finger so I could do a fun skittle. I got the idea from Mcpolish herself using her own polish. It is a little on the sheer side, so I used three coats. Is that why I couldn't get the affect to show? Or maybe my top coat? I have no idea.... The polish is beautiful regardless. It is supposed to change to a slightly lighter grey. I didn't quite capture the beauty of it since there was like zero sunlight....

For the water marble on my ring finger, I used Essie- The Girls Are Out (Naughty Nauticals Collection Summer 2013) and OPI- Nein! Nein! Nein! OK Fine! (Germany Collection Spring 2012).

I used the same OPI for the base on my pinky, which is nearly a one coater. The glitter on top is Trelly's Misc. Polish- Scruff Bunnies (Halloween Collection 2013).

HARE Polish Mattified

I feel like I have been wearing a lot of HARE Polish lately. I think I have finally worn all the ones I own besides one! I saw Mrslochness mattify this polish pairing it with a holo, so I did something similar:

Note: Sorry for such awful lighting and slight blurriness. It has been raining nearly every day here, so there is no good sunlight for my photos :(

HARE Polish- Midsummer's Midnight

I remember this polish being slightly sheer, so I layered two coats of it onto OPI- Sapphire in the Snow (Holiday Wishes Collection 2009). My go to dark, one coater purple for layering! Then I mattified it all with Essie- Matte About You top coat.

The holo on my ring finger is Emily de Molly- Moment of Impact. Another Stunning holo from her collection, just slightly darker than Color Club- Eternal Beauty. I used two coats.
