Ooh La Lacquer Ombre + Glitter Gradient

As I mentioned in my previous post, I have accumulated a lot of holos the past couple months, and these were a part of my hoard:

I also love to use floam like polishes for gradients on top of holos! Here are some I have done in the past: 1 2

The glitter I used isn't a specific floam polish, but was part of the Salon Perfect Neon Collision Collection for Summer 2013. These were available at Walmart, but I am not quite sure if they are still available...The name of this one is Salon Perfect- Shocked. It is a mix of pink and blue matte glitters which is a really fun combo since it makes a cool purple color almost, which is why I paired it with these purple and pink holos!

All the holos are from Ooh La Lacquer. Nastassia seriously makes some of the coolest holo colors!
The colors from my index finger to pinky are:
Powderpink Girl
Quite Contrary
Vamp Stamp
Prototype 6

I am not quite sure what collection these are from, but I know these were all released this year. And the prototype purple was part of a mystery prototype bag she made, and she annouuced a few weeks ago that she will be mixing big batches of some of them, so hopefully this is one of them so you can get your hands on it! The first two colors were 3 coats, and the last two which are a little more holo were 2 coats, seriously amazing polishes!

Green Holographic Ombre

The last holographic ombre I did was using the not so holographic China Glaze holos released last year. I got some green holos in the mail recently and decided to do a green one. One of these isn't as holo as the others which kind of sucks. Another reason to put all my holos in one drawer because I totally have other greens of the shade that isn't as intense, that ARE intense like the others shown here:

Either way it still looks awesome!

Can we just take a second and die over that Jennifer Green Enchanted holo on my ring finger! Not only is it my first Enchanted that I finally managed to snag, BUT it is the most amazing Jennifer Green ever, probably my new favorite!!!

The colors from my index-pinky:

Colors by Llaroew- Gizzards & Lizards an amazing deep forest green
Nubar- Reclaim This is the not so holo one I was talking about. It is definitely holo, it just looks wimpy compared to the others!
Enchanted Polish- March 2014 AMAZING!!!
Color Club- Kismet 

All were two easy coats. Gizzards & Lizards, and Reclaim are nearly one coaters though.

Lastly, the color used for the french tips is Color Club- Beyond

Serum No5 + OPI Ombre

I guess this "ombre" is more like half a rainbow, whatever. Serum No5 is known for their glow in the dark polishes, and I have yet to try them out until now! Unfortunately I failed at getting decent pictures of the glow effect, luckily there are plenty of god pictures on the internet. Here it is in its normal polish state:

Serum No5- Yule Light Up My Life (Limited Edition Holiday Trio Winter 2013)

This polish is a mixture of pretty much every color of the rainbow but it seems there are much more green and red, obviously since it is a Christmas polish. The formula was very good, A LOT of glitter pay off. I like that even though it is a glow in the dark polish, it doesn't leave a milky cast on the polishes like a lot of other glow in the dark polishes.

I layered it over all OPI polishes, primarily from the new Brazil collection. Here are the names from the index to the pinky:

OPI- Toucan Do It If You Try (Brazil Collection Spring 2014)
OPI- Where Did Suzi's Mango? (Brazil Collection 2014)
OPI- I Just Can't Cope-Acabana (Brazil Collection 2014)
OPI- Did It On 'Em (Nicki Minaj Collection Spring 2012)

I loved all three of these Brazil colors, especially the yellow! Finally a good yellow from OPI! Still not as good as my Lime Crime Yellow, but it isn't the same shade. All polishes were two easy coats.

Ombre Dots

This is probably my most favorite nail art I have done, or at least one of my top 5. It is very simple, so anyone can do it! You just need a lot of polish...

I did something pretty similar before, but it was a rainbow. The Australian tuplets of instagram did it, so I played off that and did my own version.

Simple Swatch and Ombre

Here is what I have been wearing on my nails the last 5 days:

The glitter I used is Cirque- Electric Circus (Arcus Collection 2013) This glitter is mainly green, blue, and red large, medium, and small hexagonal glitters. It reminds me a lot of the glitters inside Emily de Molly- Soon, only Electric Circus is jam packed with glitter, I have just one coat shown here. No dabbing required at all!

On to the colors I used underneath, starting from thumb to pinky: Jessica- Lime Cooler (Gelato Mio Collection Spring 2012), Illimasqua- Radium, Illimasqua- Nomad, Jessica- True Blue (It's A Girl Thing Collection Spring 2013), and Inglot Breathable Nail Enamel - No 669. All five were just 2 coats.

Holgraphic Ombre

Whenever I get a new polish, the first thing I do is swatch it on my nail wheels. I ordered the entire China Glaze Hologlam collection, and when I swatched these four together, I knew they would be worn the way I swatched them on my fingers:

 

 

 

All fingers have two coats, and a top coat.

Lets start off with the colors I used, starting from the index finger down: Don't Be A Luna-Tic, Sci-Fly By, Take A Trek, and Strap On Your Moonboots. I cant decide if the one on my ring finger or pinky is my favorite...

I know a lot of people were disappointed with this collection because it is not nearly as amazing as their first holos, and they had a lot on the line after Color Club released Part 1 and Part 2 of their Halo Hues collection. These definitely don't compare, especially with the $14 price tag, but they still look amazing in the sunlight! I just had to get the entire collection since I missed out on their originals.

Application wise: I don't remember having issues with application when I swatched them on my nail wheels, but on my fingers was a whole nother story. I always use Nail Tek formula II as my base coat, and that was definitely not a good choice. It applied terrible, and showed every imperfection of my nails. Next time I will try using a ridge filler or my Nfu Oh Aqua base. I used Poshe fast drying top  and it didn't affect the holo affect at all!

Stay tuned for some nail art for once. I have a lot planned since school will officially be done Wednesday!

Austism Awareness Month

I decided to jump on the band wagon with all the other lovely nail blogging ladies, and did some blue nails for Autism Awareness Month. I guess yesterday was the official day, but I know a lot of bloggers are going to stick with blue nails the entire month! Like my girl Christine at Nails at 2am. I might try to do more blue nails, like one a week, because I really don't do blue nails that often. Here is what I came up with:

The colors I used going from thumb to pinky: Color Club- Take Me To Your Chateau (Pardon My French collection 2010), China Glaze- Electric Beat (Electropop Collection 2012), China Glaze- Flyin' High (Up & Away Collection 2010), Anise- Island Lover, and Color Club- Endless Summer (Fiesta Collection 2013). 

I used two coats for each nail, all are cream finishes, except Endless Summer is a weird satin matte type finish. Definitely not my favorite type of finish, but the color is just stunning, and a top coat can make it look normal anyways! The color isn't showing up accurate, either. It looks a lot like Sally Hansen- Pacific Blue, but it is actually a lot deeper.

Lastly, I topped it off with Elevation Polish- Haba Xueshan which is from their new View From the Top Collection. I am not sure if it is limited edition, but I snatched it up quick. Mainly because the only black and white glitter I have has shiny micro glitters in it, which you can see HERE. Chalkboard nails also did it it so much justice with her swatches, I couldn't resist. What makes this polish really special is the pale blue circle glitters in it. The formula was awesome, no trouble getting glitter on my brush, although the circle glitters were kind of hard to get :(.

Inspire Me Monday: Floam-bre!

All credits to the clever name goes to Samarium's Swatches. She did a Floam-bre a couple days ago, and I knew I just had to do something similar! Here it is:

She used blues, so I decided to switch it up a bit and use green, of course. And instead of applying Floam all over my nails, I did a nice gradient :) The last Ombre Gradient I did was for New Year's if you want to go check that out.

Ahh it is green heaven for me :)

All the base colors I used were China Glaze. Going from the thumb to pinky: Electric Pineapple, Def Defying, Gaga For Green, Starboard, and Holly-Day. All are limited edition, but you can find them on ebay, amazon, and various e-tailors. Each were 2 coats, too, except Electric Pineapple is a little streaky, so it required 3 coats.

And I used Ninja Polish- Floam for the the gradient. It is the same as the Nail Venturous one, but Ninja Polish just took the recipe and makes them now. I believe Nail Venturous is done Frankening polishes? Floam was all the rage a few years ago though. It was one of the first matte glitters, and sold out incredibly fast every time it was in stock. It is a finely milled green and blue matte glitters, and Ninja Polish doesn't just make Floam. She makes all sorts of floam versions, such as purple, blue, and she just released a Cupid Floam for Valentine's day, and is in stock! You can find Ninja Polish HERE.

New Years Nails!

I didn't have time to make a post for my nails yesterday because I was taking care of my sick honey boo boo. So instead of calling these my New Years Eve nails, even though I wore them yesterday, I am calling them my New Years nails. I went with the whole glitter theme of course, and here is what I came up with:

Awesome Ombre!!!

Lets just get right into what polishes I used. Going from the thumb to pinky, the base colors are: Revlon Colorstay- Provence, Sally Hansen Hard as Nails- No Hard Feelings, OPI- Planks A Lot, Anise- Violet Falls In Love, and OPI- Sapphire In The Snow. I believe Provence and No Hard Feelings are part of Revlon and Sally Hansen's permanent lines. Planks A Lot is from the Pirates of the Caribbean Spring 2011 collection. Sapphire in the Snow is from OPI's Holiday Wishes collection way back in 2009. I haven't heard much about Anise in the Nail Blogging Community besides like one time from Scrangie. I have only seen them at DSW usually by the cash registers. And every time I go there, there are different polishes. But definitely try to check this Anise color out, it is probably one of the best and my personal favorite purples! I used two coats for each nail. 

After those dried, I applied one thin coat of China Glaze- Glitter All The Way. I applied it pretty thick at the tips and with using the brush I did a gradual gradient. Then I used China Glaze- Pizzazz which is your standard multicolored chunky glitter. Both polishes are from their Holiday Joy 2012 collection.

I really love doing ombre manicures. That is the advantage of having so many polishes! I plan on hopefully doing a blue one next because I have done green multiple times. Any suggestions?
