Simple Swatch + Watermarble

I finally watched all of Breaking Bad, and now I know why everyone was going crazy over it. So when I saw this polish from Dollish Polish's Fandom Part Deux Collection, I knew I had to have it! It also helps that it is a nice polish as well

Dollish Polish- I Am The One Who Knocks

This polish is a white crelly base with bright blue tiny matte micro glitters, along with darker blue medium matte hex glitters. I used two coats here, but probably should have done 3, or at least done two coats over a white base. All in all I really love this polish!

The colors I used for the water marble:
Wet n Wild- White Creme
Zoya- Ling (Tickled Collection Summer 2014)
China Glaze- Man Hunt (On Safari Collection Fall 2012)

Simple Swatch + Water marble

Long time no blog! Who reads this anyways? I was honestly thinking about quitting blogging and just uploading on instagram, tumblr and pinterest, but I changed my mind. I have the same excuse as always as to why I have been absent, school. This quarter kicked my butt, and next quarter probably will as well, but I graduate in June! So hopefully that will give me more time to do nails. I have been doing nails and taking pictures of most, but editing photos just takes so much freakin time.

Anyways, here is a lovely polish I wore about 2 months ago along with a water marble:

The glitter is Picture Polish- Unicorn which is one of their collaboration shades with British blogger, Birt Nails. I don't have many Picture Polish shades due to their expensive price tag when you only get 0.37 fluid ounces, but this shade just screamed "buy me!". It is a turquoise base with loads of silver shimmer and packed with medium sized pink and silver glitters. The formula was amazing, I believe I used two coats.

For the water marble I used:
Wet n Wild- Candylicious (pink)
China Glaze- For Audrey (light blue)
Essie- Naughty Nautical (dark blue)

All worked well aside from me getting air bubbles as usual!

Christmas Nails

I managed to post these on my social media the day of Christmas, but didn't really have time to write it up in a blog post. Who reads this anyways? Here's what I have been wearing since the day before Christmas Eve:

I used a design from Mucking Fusser again, and I must say, this is one of my best water marbles. I got ZERO air bubbles on my design

The greens I used for it are all OPI:
You Are So Out of Lime! (Neons Collection Summer 2014)
Green-Wich Village (Mod About Brights Collection 2008)
Jade is the New Black

I applied a fast drying top coat, used some Nail Vinyls map out the tree shape and painted the black using Wet n Wild- Black Creme. I added dots using OPI- My Boyfriend Scales Walls (Spiderman Collection 2012). The star is from a Lush Lacquer/Polish Me Silly Polish called Tree-Mendous, which I used for my Christmas nails last year.

For the candy canes I used Butter London- Chancer. This polish is awesome, and I don't even like reds. It is almost a one coater, but as always, I applied a second coat, then applied a fast drying top coat using the same Nail Vinyls, I placed them in random thicknesses, and applied a thick coat of My Boyfriend Scales Walls.

And that is it! My next post will probably be my New Years nails.

Simple Swatch + Water Marble

As promised, here are some more festive nails:

The awesome white, red, and green glitter is KB Shimmer- Holly Back Girl (Holiday Collection 2014). This is your standard amazing formula by KB Shimmer. I have tried a lot of her white crelly base polishes with various colors of glitters in it, and they have never failed to impress me. If you are new to indies and weird glitters, KB Shimmer is definitely the brand to start out with, plus they are one of the most affordable, cheaper than OPI! I used two coats here.

I used three different polishes for the water marble:
OPI- Coca-Cola Red (Coca Cola Collection 2014)
OPI- Jade is the New Black 
Wet n Wild- White Creme

All worked very well, I just can't seem to not get a bunch of air bubbles in my design! Oh well.

Thanksgiving Day Nail Art

Happy Thanksgiving!

I managed to do some fun nail art this year for the holiday. I saw this done by Mucking Fusser, aka the water marble queen. I saw it on Instagram and was instantly like yes, I am doing that this year! Mine did not come out as well of course, but I am still pretty happy with the way they turned out considering I have not marbled in a looong time. Here it is:

No matter what, I always get air bubbles!

I would definitely say my middle finger came out the best. The way I made the design on the water made it very hard to place my finger in, and then I of course realized when I was done that I could have just placed my finger in a different way.... oh well.

I started out with one coat of OPI- My Boyfriend Scales Walls (Spiderman Collection Spring 2012).

The colors I used for the marble are also all OPI:
Coca-Cola Red (Coca-Cola Collection Spring 2014)
Toucan Do It If You Try (Brazil Collection Summer 2014)
I Just Can't Copa-Acabana (Brazil Collection 2014)
A-Taupe The Space Needle (Touring America Collection Fall 2011)

Then using a dotting tool, I made the turkey bodies using A-Taupe The Space Needle. This is pretty much my only brown in my collection.

The white for the eyes is My Boyfriend Scales Walls, and the black pupil is Wet n Wild- Black Creme. Lastly, I used Toucan Do It If You Try for the beak!

Simple Swatch + Water Marble

I am gonna keep this short and sweet:

I swear every time I wear Laquerlicious the sunlight is never in my favor.

The glitter is Laquerlicious- Class Act (Lights, Camera, Action Collection Summer 2014). This was kind of tricky to work with. It is very glitter dense, so when applying it kind of clumps up, so you definitely have to work fast with it. I have 2 coats here over white, with 1 coat of Nail Pattern Boldness Glitter Food + 1 coat of Seche Vite.

I tried using colors for the water marble that were as close as possible to the glitter colors, but they aren't quite close enough for me. I used:
OPI- My Boyfriend Scales Walls (Spiderman Collection Spring 2012)
Wet n Wild- Candy-Licious
Zoya- Blu (Lovely Collection Spring 2013)

Orange Skittle

I have been super into doing skittle nails lately. It comes in handy when you have a lot of untried polishes and just can't decide what to do! Here is what I did:

The awesome glitter is Lush Lacquer/Polish Me Silly- Summer Lovin which is now discontinued. It is a mix of medium white and blue hexagonal glitters, along with some large pink hexagonal glitter, all in a lightly tinted orange base. Since the base is so light, I layered it over two coats of OPI- Where Did Suzi's Mango? (Brazil Collection Spring 2014), which is also one of the colors used in the water marble.

The other two colors used in my water marble are also from the OPI Brazil collection. The yellow is OPI- I Just Can't Cope-Acabana, and the darker orange is OPI- Toucan Do It If You Try.

Lastly, the orange textured polish on my middle finger is Zoya- Beatrix (Pixiedust Collection Summer 2013). I used two coats of that.

4th of July Nails

As promised yesterday, here are my 4th of July nails!

 

Here is what I did last year. This years water marble came out MUCH better.

I used a whole bunch of polishes for this! First, the base I used for every nail is OPI- My Boyfriend Scales Walls (Spiderman Collection 2012). My go to white, not your traditional stark white, but still white enough, and a very good formula.

The glitters:
My index finger is Sally Hansen- Red White & Hue (Color Frenzy Line). I am not too sure if this is limited edition, I just stumbled upon this at Target and had to get it since I don't have a red white and blue polish in a clear base. I know Hard Candy has one too. The formula wasn't the best. I tended to get a lot of the clear base on my brush rather than glitter, so it got a little thick.

My pinky is Polish Me Silly- Razzmatazz (Formally known as Lush Lacquer). This polish is no longer available unfortunately. It is just red and blue medium hex glitters in a clear base.Very easy to work with.

Red and Blue:
Everyone in the nail polish world knows about Sally Hansen- Pacific Blue being changed to an awful formula along with some other loved Xtreme wear polishes. I have heard these polishes are great for water marbling, so I gave it a whirl. I think it came out pretty good. It didn't spread out as easily as the OPI's I used, but it got the job done. It especially got the job done for the stripes on my middle finger since it is so creamy and opaque. I got the striping tape from Nailvinyls, and used various sizes.

The red is a new one to my collection and the nail polish world, which is OPI- Coca-Cola Red (Coca- Cola Collection 2014). This polish is FLAWLESS! I used it on my other hand for the base before applying the Sally Hansen glitter. Super creamy and opaque, and almost a one coater. I think I may have a new favorite red.

Long Time No See...

School is my excuse as always... I have been painting my nails, but the sun hasn't always been in my favor for pictures, so I have some photos built up to post, but not too many. Here is what I wore a week ago:

Not the best water marble....

These amazing glitters were released by Lacquerlicious a few weeks ago, which are unfortunately sold out right now. They are nearly neon fully opaque glitters.There are only three colors, so I did a water marble on the finger that didn't have glitter on it. All three were three coats, you could get away with two depending on how long your nails are and how thick you apply them. The colors are:

Beat the Heat
Lemon Limeade
At The Lake

Wet n Wild- Candy-Licious
Essie- The More The Merrier (Naughty Nautical Summer 2013)

Color Club + Water Marble

Like Orly, Color Club has decided to change their logos on their bottles. I am not too sure if they reformulated though. I went to my nail shop and they had this new display of all of the new Color Club collections in their new bottles. I saw a bunch of collections on Head2Toe Beauty a few weeks ago and have been searching for swatches, but nothing! Luckily they had swatches on nail wheels on the display which I am happy for because some of them were a little weird, like the Modern Mosaics...Anyways, here is the one polish I managed to get:

I must say I do like the new packaging/logo, and the cap has a nice rubber feel to it. As you can see, Color Club is also jumping on the indie like polish band wagon!

I aim to get at least one rainbow glitter in a milky white base from every brand that makes one. Just to find the best one, kind of like what I am doing with Jennifer Green polishes. This isn't my favorite rainbow polish in a milky base.... As you can see it has A LOT of purple glitters, there were like no greens either, so maybe it isn't aiming to be rainbow.

The color is Color Club- For You (Celebration Collection 2014). I used two coats. The formula was really good. I kind of had to play around with glitter placement on the first coat, but the second coat was much easier since the glitter had a base to grab onto. The one thing I did not like was that the large glitters had a little curl to them, making them snag and pop off easily :(

Simple Swatch + Water Marble

I am still burnt out on nail art, and can't come up with anything original. So, for now I will stick with some water marbles, but at least I am going to be posting a lot this week since I am on spring break! Here is one of the newer Emily de Molly shades for spring that I luckily snatched up when Llarowe had a surprise restock that no one new about!

For some reason this polish reminds me of mint chocolate ice cream...

This is two coats of Emily de Molly- Frail Promise. Another flawless polish from Emily de Molly, I probably sound like a broken record saying that, but this really is one of the best indie brands out there! The polish is a nude base that actually has tons of gold shimmer in it, but that didn't translate to the nail. The glitters in it are black, pink, white, and mint hexes in various sizes, and some larger mint circle glitters. Some of the glitters are matte and sparkly.

I really love how the water marble came out! The grey/taupe is OPI- Taupe-less Beach (Brazil Collection Spring 2014). The green is OPI- Mermaid's Tears (Pirate's of the Caribbean Collection Spring 2011). Lastly, the pink is Wet n Wild- Candy-Licious (Megalast Line)

Pipedream Polish- Mcpolish Awesomesauce

This polish was released a few months ago by Pipedream Polish. It was limited edition, but the maker kept on restocking it in small quantities due to high demand. I was never able to snag it until the very last restock. This polish is a thermal, and she did mention she will be re releasing it again, only in a regular polish form. I could not for the life of me get the thermal affect to show :(. My first thermal polish, and I managed to mess it up.... Anyways, here it is:

Pipedream Polish- Mcpolish Awesomesauce

I used the polish on just my index and middle finger so I could do a fun skittle. I got the idea from Mcpolish herself using her own polish. It is a little on the sheer side, so I used three coats. Is that why I couldn't get the affect to show? Or maybe my top coat? I have no idea.... The polish is beautiful regardless. It is supposed to change to a slightly lighter grey. I didn't quite capture the beauty of it since there was like zero sunlight....

For the water marble on my ring finger, I used Essie- The Girls Are Out (Naughty Nauticals Collection Summer 2013) and OPI- Nein! Nein! Nein! OK Fine! (Germany Collection Spring 2012).

I used the same OPI for the base on my pinky, which is nearly a one coater. The glitter on top is Trelly's Misc. Polish- Scruff Bunnies (Halloween Collection 2013).

Hare Polish + Water Marble

It has been wayyy too long since I have done a water marble! Since I moved into my apartment in October, I have been too scared. I just imagine myself spilling the cup of water with nail polish in it all over the floor. Well, I finally built up the courage to do one since I didn't want to do just another swatch without any nail art. Here it is:

I think I picked pretty good complementary colors for the water marble, yeah?

The glitter is Hare Polish- King of Carat Flowers. I used two thicker coats. If you go to my Hare polish label on the side of my blog, then you can see that I pretty much love the formula of all her polishes, especially considering they are packed with glitter! This is the only one I have had a problem with so far. There is so much glitter in it, it tends to clump towards the tip of the nail the more bush strokes you use, so it did require a little manipulation. I still love the polish though, I have nothing like it!

The colors I used for the marble are both from the OPI Germany Collection from Spring 2013. The green is OPI- Don't Talk Bach to Me, and the taupe is OPI- Berlin There Done That. Both worked great for marbling as always!

Rainbow Rainbow!

So, I just got the good news that my boyfriend and I were approved for an apartment, I got a raise at one of my jobs, I start Veterinary Technician school in a little over a week, and I am going to a wedding in San Diego (which I have never been). So, I figured why not do some fun rainbow nails since I am in such a good mood! Here it is:

The glitter is the one and only KB Shimmer- Oh Splat! Seriously flawless, like every other KB Shimmer I have tried, I want them all! I used two coats. I used a fairly normal coat for my first coat to see how the coverage was. It was a little sheer, so I applied the second coat kind of thick. I think it is a crelly white base? Jam packed with large and small hexagonal rainbow glitters!  A must have in every polish hoarders collection.

Then of course I did a rainbow water marble. Starting from the pink to the purple, the colors are: China Glaze- Dance Baby (Electropop Collection Spring 2012), OPI- On The Same Paige, OPI- Need Sunglasses?, OPI- Green-wich Village (Mod About Brights Collection Summer 2008), OPI- Fly (Nicki Minaj Collection Spring 2012), and OPI- Planks A Lot (Pirates of the Caribbean Collection Spring 2011).

I topped it off with Butter London Hardwear Top Caot. I really like it, although it did smear my water marble a little even after letting it dry for a really long time.

Simple Swatch: Emily de Molly

First off, sorry for not posting in a whole week! I did my nails twice since then, but the first swatch's pictures turned out just awful, and the second was a jelly sandwich that just turned out awful! So, today I went with a safe route by trying an amazing Emily de Molly polish, and a water marble! Here it is:

Emily de Molly- Monet's Garden

I really need to get better lighting in my room because it looked like the purple glitters were more of a red... therefore I chose a red for the water marble. The red is OPI- Lost on Lomard (SF Collection Fall 2013), the dark green is OPI- Jade is the New Black, and the lighter green is Essie- The More the Merrier (Naughty Nauticals Collection Summer 2013).

Monet's Garden was two easy coats! It's so amazing! It has sooo many different types of glitter all in a teal jelly base. Here is a macro bottle shot:

Simple Swatch: Trelly Polish + Water Marble

I have another Trelly Polish for you today. This brand has quickly became one of my favorite indies in such a short period of time. Cassie has great customer service, and she keeps impressing me more and more when she creates new polishes! She has posted previews of her Halloween polishes on her Instagram, and I am dying to get my hands on them! Here is what I have on today:

I also couldn't come up with creative ideas for the accent finger like I did with Banana Sorbet and Watermelon Sorbet, so I thought another water marble would be fun!

This is Trelly's MISC Polish- Strawberry Rumba. Such a cool mix of glitter, and there are so many different types in there! Everything from orange and teal bar glitters, large coral circle and hexagons, medium coral hexagons, medium teal squares, circles, hexagons, translucent squares,small coral and teal hexagons, and of course the large teal circles! I am sure I didn't name all the different types of glitters in it, but I love that there are so many, yet it doesn't look too much like glitter vomit. Although I did make my pinky look like a bottle of glitter polish threw up on it... I could do with out the large circles, I really like large circles, but they don't sit well on my super curved nails beds. I always find them snagging on something, so they will definitely work better if you have flat nail beds!

The colors I used in the water marble are all from the Essie Naughty Nauticals Collection for Summer 2013. The coral is Essie- Sunday Funday, purple: Essie- The Girls Are Out, and the teal: Essie- Naughty Nautical. All of them have a slight shimmer, but they didn't show up in the marble too much :( I have said this before, but Essie is great for marbling! I have never had a problem with them like I do with my China Glaze!

Lastly, The base color for my other nails is Jessica- Tangerine Dreamz (Gelato Mio Collection Spring 2012). My all time favorite orange! It is the only orange that doesn't make my hands look gross.

Simple Swatch + Water Marble!

I feel like it has been forever since I have done a marble. I had enough free time to get one in today! Along with a polish that I have been eying for a while. I de-stashed a lot of polishes from my collection that I no longer want, so I felt that was enough justification to go ahead and finally buy it! Here it is:

I feel like I say this every time I do a marble, but this is my favorite to date! Straight up Mucking Fusser status

The amazing blue polish is Pipedream Polish- Pink Elephants and Lemonade. Such a fun name, and a fun polish! I think I love it so much because I really have not seen a combo like this, at all. I wouldn't think to mix blue with pink and gold/yellow glitter... I don't think I will ever get tired of indie polish as long as they are around!

I used 2 coats. The first coat seemed a little sheer, but the second covers every bald spot up, and it looks so delicious. It is a dusty blue creme base, with medium and small sized pink and yellow glitters, so pretty!

The colors I used for the marble are OPI- Need Sunglasses? (yellow), OPI- Fly (blue), and Essie- The Girls are Out (pink). All worked perfectly, Essie and OPI are definitely my favorite polishes to marble with!

Hi guys!  I'm super excited for this guest post for Jennifer, she is so sweet and I hope she is having a lovely vacation right now!  When she asked me to post for her, I knew she likes my marbles, so I asked her what colors she'd like to see me use.  We decided on a rainbow marble since its Pride Month.



I loved how this one turned out.  I've tried to do a rainbow marble in the past, but I didn't have enough colors that worked in the water.  This time I did!

These were done using the following colors (in rainbow order): Zoya Sooki, Cult Nails Ay Poppy!, Cult Nails You're My Dandy Lion, Essie Mojito Madness, OPI Ogre The Top Blue, and China Glaze Spontaneous.

4th of July Nails!

Of course I did some 4th of July nails to represent my country! Too bad I am not doing anything since I work this afternoon, and have work at 6am tomorrow -__-, plus I have to pack for our 2 week long road trip, more about that at the end of this post. Here is what I did:

I really love these besides the fact that I got air bubbles galore, and I don't know how the blue on my ring finger is so much lighter...I even waited forever before putting on a top coat, and it streaked like crazy!

For the marble I used China Glaze- Adventure Red-Y (On Safari Collection Fall 2012), OPI- My Boyfriend Scales Walls (Spiderman Collection Spring 2012), and China Glaze- Man Hunt (On Safari Collection Fall 2012). I really need to find better water marble shades in my collection. It is so sad I have so much China Glaze, and they just don't seem to work for me :(

The awesome patriotic glitter is KB Shimmer- Pimp My Pride (Summer Collection 2013) KB Shimmer always comes up with the best names. This is a "crelly" white base, packed with red and blue hexagonal glitters in all sizes, and tiny red and blue bar glitters as well! I used three coats here, it was pretty sheer, but amazing to work with!

On to my vacation: I am leaving Saturday the 6th for a 2 week road trip to Missouri to see my family, and then to Texas for my boyfriends fat family reunion. Simple Swatch: KB Shimmer

KB Shimmer is seriously one of the best indie brands out there right now. I only have a few, but each one seems to get better every time! I limited myself to only getting one from their summer collection this year, and here it is along with another water marble:

KB Shimmer- Totally Tubular

Seriously the most awesome teal of all time. I used two coats, but if you have tiny/short nails, you could probably get away with one coat! I didn't have to fish for glitters what so ever, although I didn't get any of the giant fuchsia circle glitters on my photo hand. It also has silver microglitters, large fuchsia, purple, and teal circle and hexagonal glitters, and even tiny fuchsia bar glitters! All in a creme teal base that applies like butter!

The colors I used for the water marble are OPI- Fly (Nicki Minaj Collection 2012), OPI- Planks A Lot (Pirates of the Caribbean Collection 2011), and OPI- Ink  (Night Brights Collection 2007). All worked very well! I think OPI will be my go to polishes for marbling!

I think I will definitely be getting more of KB Shimmer's summer polishes, especially the red white and blue one! You can purchase KB Shimmer on their website for $8.75!
