Simple Swatch: Cirque + Ninja Polish

I am officially on my last summer break, but am still behind on some posts! I actually have some nail art planned, including a fun one for the fourth of July! Anyways, here is one of the new awesome holos Cirque released for the summer:

 

Cirque- Cerrillos (Heritage Collection Summer 2014) is the most gorgeous bright blue, turquoise holo out there right now. I have a lot of holos right now, and none of them are quite like this one! This shade applied in two flawless coats, like all Cirque polishes I have tried. I got 5 of the 7 polishes from this collection, so expect to see those in the near future- another one will be in my next post actually!

I used Ninja Polish- Floam on my ring finger. First I applied one coat of Cerrillos, then applied 2 coats of Floam just in case there were some bald spots. I love this polish! Of course it is sold out right now, but a lot of indies have their own version of this now, and in many color combos, such as Salon Perfect.

Ooh La Lacquer Ombre + Glitter Gradient

As I mentioned in my previous post, I have accumulated a lot of holos the past couple months, and these were a part of my hoard:

I also love to use floam like polishes for gradients on top of holos! Here are some I have done in the past: 1 2

The glitter I used isn't a specific floam polish, but was part of the Salon Perfect Neon Collision Collection for Summer 2013. These were available at Walmart, but I am not quite sure if they are still available...The name of this one is Salon Perfect- Shocked. It is a mix of pink and blue matte glitters which is a really fun combo since it makes a cool purple color almost, which is why I paired it with these purple and pink holos!

All the holos are from Ooh La Lacquer. Nastassia seriously makes some of the coolest holo colors!
The colors from my index finger to pinky are:
Powderpink Girl
Quite Contrary
Vamp Stamp
Prototype 6

I am not quite sure what collection these are from, but I know these were all released this year. And the prototype purple was part of a mystery prototype bag she made, and she annouuced a few weeks ago that she will be mixing big batches of some of them, so hopefully this is one of them so you can get your hands on it! The first two colors were 3 coats, and the last two which are a little more holo were 2 coats, seriously amazing polishes!

Holographic and Glitter Gradient

Today should have been my Polish Days post...I did not have time! I might try to do it tomorrow, we'll see. But I still have an awesome look to share today. I am continuing with the untried polishes this month, and this is probably my favorite glitter gradient I have ever done! Expect to see more holographic polishes with a glitter gradient this month. Very picture heavy. It is too awesome, and holographics are so hard to photograph! I also apologize for the tip wear. I worked before being able to take pictures of it.

The holographic shade I used was Glitter Gal- Fuchsia. It applied in 2 easy coats. I am pretty sure Glitter Gal is the first indie brand I ever got. Back when Llarowe was still fairly new and didn't carry nearly as many brands comapred to how many they have now. They were also my first holos. I got three at the same time, and I still haven't worn this and one other! Polish hoarder problems...

Lastly, the glitter I used is Ninja Polish- Girly Floam. Floam polishes are the easiest polishes to do gradients with! Here is the other one I did. I have one other floam I haven't used, so I might be using that soon... I will be very sad to take these off.

Inspire Me Monday: Floam-bre!

All credits to the clever name goes to Samarium's Swatches. She did a Floam-bre a couple days ago, and I knew I just had to do something similar! Here it is:

She used blues, so I decided to switch it up a bit and use green, of course. And instead of applying Floam all over my nails, I did a nice gradient :) The last Ombre Gradient I did was for New Year's if you want to go check that out.

Ahh it is green heaven for me :)

All the base colors I used were China Glaze. Going from the thumb to pinky: Electric Pineapple, Def Defying, Gaga For Green, Starboard, and Holly-Day. All are limited edition, but you can find them on ebay, amazon, and various e-tailors. Each were 2 coats, too, except Electric Pineapple is a little streaky, so it required 3 coats.

And I used Ninja Polish- Floam for the the gradient. It is the same as the Nail Venturous one, but Ninja Polish just took the recipe and makes them now. I believe Nail Venturous is done Frankening polishes? Floam was all the rage a few years ago though. It was one of the first matte glitters, and sold out incredibly fast every time it was in stock. It is a finely milled green and blue matte glitters, and Ninja Polish doesn't just make Floam. She makes all sorts of floam versions, such as purple, blue, and she just released a Cupid Floam for Valentine's day, and is in stock! You can find Ninja Polish HERE.

My original Thanksgiving Day nails

I don't know what I was thinking when I did this combo...if I had done like three weeks before, I would have probably loved it!

 

The base color is Wet n Wild- Club Havana, and the glitter is Ninja Polish- Spooky Floam. I was beyond excited to get this polish because the floam polishes are a legend in the nail polish world. They are usually sold out, but once I saw this one was in stock, I hopped on it! I looked the other day as well and the original floam was in stock! And if you are reading this now, it is still in stock! Hurry and get yours!

On to the application. Club Havana was alright in my book. It was a little streaky after applying the second coat, but I figured the glitter would cover it up, which it did. Spooky Floam was very easy to apply. I applied two pretty thick coats, which is what is shown in the picture. I love the effect, I just wasn't in the mood for it I guess. Maybe if I applied it on a darker color I would have kept it on. The best thing about this polish is it is glow in the dark! I am a sucker for a glow in the dark polish that isn't your standard murky green top coat. I attempted to take a picture of it glowing, but it just wasn't happening.
