Green Holographic Ombre

The last holographic ombre I did was using the not so holographic China Glaze holos released last year. I got some green holos in the mail recently and decided to do a green one. One of these isn't as holo as the others which kind of sucks. Another reason to put all my holos in one drawer because I totally have other greens of the shade that isn't as intense, that ARE intense like the others shown here:

Either way it still looks awesome!

Can we just take a second and die over that Jennifer Green Enchanted holo on my ring finger! Not only is it my first Enchanted that I finally managed to snag, BUT it is the most amazing Jennifer Green ever, probably my new favorite!!!

The colors from my index-pinky:

Colors by Llaroew- Gizzards & Lizards an amazing deep forest green
Nubar- Reclaim This is the not so holo one I was talking about. It is definitely holo, it just looks wimpy compared to the others!
Enchanted Polish- March 2014 AMAZING!!!
Color Club- Kismet 

All were two easy coats. Gizzards & Lizards, and Reclaim are nearly one coaters though.

Lastly, the color used for the french tips is Color Club- Beyond

Textured Rainbow Halfmoons

I did something similar to this a while ago, only I didn't use textured polishes. You can see it HERE. Let's get to it:

I will just list the colors starting from the thumb to the pinky, starting with the holographics:

Emily de Molly- Seeing Red

Dollish Polish- This Sh*t is Bananas

Nubar- Reclaim

Jade- Mirage

Emily de Molly- Devotion

Each were two coats, amazing formulas. Although the Dollish Polish was on the thick side, kind of hard to work with. But still a really pretty holo!

Kiko- 643 Spring Green (Sugar Mat Collection 2013)

Long time no see...AGAIN

I really just have the same excuse for not posting, school.....I am wrapping up finals this week, then I am going to try and do as many Christmas nails as possible! I am definitely going to recreate my South park nails too! I will actually have some more time to do my nails next quarter anyways since this quarter of my program is the "lightest" one. We will see...

Anyways, here are two manicures I did a long time ago. I have more photos to edit, so the next posts won't be too Christmasy, but the ones to follow will be! I am already rocking some awesome Christmas glitters as we speak.

Nubar- Lime Green Glitter

Yes, that is actually the name. I have been eying this polish for so long, but since my nail supply always had it, I just kept putting it off. My boyfriend took me to my nail shop to go shopping for my birthday, so I took that as an opportunity to get all the polishes I have been wanting for while. This polish is so freakin amazing! It is two coats of just straight up lime green glitter. I got it to be super shiny by using Gelous base coat first, then adding my Poshe fast drying top coat. My only complaint is that it is a pain in the but to photograph. I really need to invest in a tripod so my pictures don't come out so blurry, or my camera just can't handle awesome glitters like this....

Onto the next:

I got two of these polishes from my nail mail buddy on Instagram, and she hooked it up with the entire China Glaze Halloween collection, plus this amazing nude! The nude shade on my two middle fingers is Zoya- Kennedy (Feel Collection Winter 2011). I used two coats, seriously a flawless polish. Zoya does cremes like no other. The grey color on my index and pinky is OPI- Berlin There Done That (Germany Collection Fall 2012). Two coats of another amazing creme.

Then I added China Glaze- Boo-gie Down (Monster's Ball Collection Halloween 2013). Another indie-esque polish from a mainstream brand! They made up for that one black and white polish they released with their Cirque de Soilel Collection....This is one coat of awesome glitter bomb heaven!

Holographic Chevron Tips

The last time I did nail art like this, I called it fish tail french tips, but I guess it is more of a chevron french tip. I can't remember where I first saw this design, so I am by no means taking credit for the idea... Anyways, here it is:

I have to start busting out all my holos out while the sun is still out before it gets all gloomy every day!

I started out with 2 coats of Cirque- Chyrsopoeia (Alchemy Collection Fall 2013). Seriously the most amazing goldish yellow holographic polish! I have been wanting a yellow holo, but there never seemed to be one...until this, and Jade also has one, but according to the review it is a little more green. I still want it!!!

After that dried, I started with the lighter color of the chevron, which is Jade- Uau!. A true orange, which you don't see very often! Too bad you can barely see it in the photos. Lastly, the green I used is Nubar- Reclaim (Going Green Collection 2009). Any green holo will have a special place in my heart. I was originally going to use the green holo from Cirque, but it wasn't very opaque with just one coat, and Reclaim is opaque like nobody's business!

Subtle Jelly Sandwich

I am finally using my second jelly I got recently from the OPI New York Ballet Collection. HERE is the first one I did.

I will start off with pictures of the base colors I used:

I am lovin these super girly nails. The pinkish purple base is Nubar- Isis Purple (Cleopatra 2009). I used two coats. Then I topped it off with one coat of Lush Lacquer- Mr. Bubble. Probably one of my favorites from Lush Lacquer.

And here it is with the jelly on top:

 

  Sunlight

 It looks super shiny in the shade!!

As you can see, it is very subtle.

I used one fairly thick coat of OPI- Care to Danse? (New York Ballet Collection 2012). It gives it just a little more oomph I suppose,, I love it. Go get it at your local ULTA! It is permanent.

From The Vault: Nubar- Reclaim

I am really on a holographic kick right now and if you follow me on instagram, you would know I recently bought A LOT of the new releases from China Glaze and Color Club's holo collections. I knew I had this beauty waiting in my Nail folder on my computer, so I thought what better time to share it than now? Prepare yourself:

Nubar- Reclaim

sdfsdfbsdfjsd! If you have been following me a while, you would know I love green, but this one is super special. I mentioned in my Cirque Holographic post that this is a lot like Lonesome George, but I like this shade of green slightly more. Reclaim was supposed to be limited edition in their Going Green collection from 2009, but you can still get it HERE for just $8. I am sure it is going for much more on ebay and amazon. I lucked out when I got mine because I found it randomly at one of the Nail Supply stores that has ridiculously low prices. It was on a bottom shelf just begging me to pick it up, and only $4!

Onto the polish itself: It is amazing, hands down. 2 easy coats, and no need for a special base coat, and the top coat doesn't take away the holo effect! I wanted to spice it up a bit and put China Glaze- Glitter All The Way on my ring finger. I love this combo! The last time I went to my regular nail supply store they had this shade fully stocked! I think I might get a back up, and maybe one for you guys :)

Nubar- Gem

Today I have an awesome polish to share. As I mentioned in the last post I did, I have an amazing nail supply store in my area that sells pretty much every salon brand, including rare, really sot after polishes, for pretty much half price! The first time I went I about pissed myself because I found the entire Nubar Prisms collection in a set like this!. It was only $40 but at that point I already had my basket full, so luckily they had them individually, so I chose my three favorites. Although I think the next time I go, I will purchase the entire set for a future giveaway once I have some followers :). Let me know if you would like that. Onto the polish!

 Direct Sunlight

Nubar- Gem is just stunning. For those of you who aren't familiar with the Prisms collection, it was a full collection of 8 polishes that aren't linear holographic, but instead have a subtle scattered holographic affect. The color of this polish is kind of hard to describe. It is like a mauve/purple/taupe? I feel like it has a subtle duochrome to it too. Here are some more pictures of it in different lighting:

In this picture you can definitely see more of the taupe color, where as the first two pictures it is more purple.

And of course I couldn't leave out a trusty blurry photo that really shows the holographic glitters!

The base of the polish is pretty standard, but what gives it the holographic affect is tiny microglitters. They sparkle so much! They leave a little bit of a gritty texture too. I used one coat of Seche Vite Top coat and you can still feel the texture. So if you like your nails to be super smooth, maybe use a second layer of top coat. I used two coats in these photos as well, but I kind of wish I did three. If you look at my ring finger you can kind of see through it, but I still think it looks amazing! I plan on getting Jewel from the collection too, which is like a darker version of Gem. I can't wait!
