Lustre Shine!

Today and yesterdays manicure is just stunning. This post is going to be very picture heavy. I finally tried my Sally Hansen Lustre Shine in Lava. I am just going to say what everyone else has been saying and it totally brings me back to the Nail Prisms from yearsss ago. I couldn’t find a year when they were actually released, but I am pretty sure one of my friends had the yellowish red one back when we were in middle school! Anyway, onto the photos:

In "sunlight"

I know, this photo is awful. This was yesterday toward the end of the day so, a: there wasn't much sunlight, and b: there really wasn't much sun to begin with due to the rainy weather. This day lights saving time is killing me!

Indoor Lighting

Due to the lame light outside, i turned to my trusty bathroom lighting. It is more true to color in this photo and you can see more of the duochrome coming out. There is much more of a yellow shift rather than it looking predominately orange like the first photo.

So pretty!!! Here are some good close ups:

I decided to spice it up a bit and add some glitter to my ring finger:

The glitter I chose was Lush Lacquer- Hey Jack! It is from their Halloween collection and I believe it is still available. You should definitely check them out! They have some of the coolest mixtures of glitters, and the application is flawless. There's no problem with actually getting glitter on your brush, and the formula is the perfect consistency.

I saved these three for last because the duochrome is especially strong in these photos!

Here is a close up of the amazing glitter. It has large black and orange hexagonals, medium black and orange hexagaonals, small white circles, and the large white bar glitters. The only shiny gliters are the orange ones, the rest are all matte. Very halloweenesque. A little late to be wearing this, but I don’t care!

Direct sunlight

I took this picture today (all the others were from yesterday). There was a little bit of sunlight peeking through so i took a few more. It is definitely better than the original and the duochrome is much more prominent.

As far as application of Lava, it was quite sheer with the first coat. So, when it came to applying the second coat I got more polish on the brush and did a much thicker second layer. Amazing. These are a little more expensive as well. I have seen them range from $6-$8 at various drugstores and Ulta.

Lush Lacquer can be found here. Their polishes are $8.75 for a full size. What I like most about this mother and daughter team is that they never close their store like a lot of the independent sellers do. I believe they are just a team of two so you know they are working their butts off! The only downside to them is shipping takes up to two weeks. But considering the quality of their polishes, I am totally fine with it. I have a bunch of other polishes I need to try anyways!
