If this isn't 60's, I don't know what is! Look at that pinky o__o
I knew when I read that today's Sat-ART-day theme was 60's, I wanted to do a cool 60's mod pattern. I found this picture and knew immediately what I was going to do!
I really wanted to incorporate red, but I still don't have a red creme! You can see this pattern has dots, so I decided to add some, too:
I don't like how the dots turned out, but I LOOOVE the pinky!
Onto what I used! I started off with a base coat of OPI- My Boyfriend Scales Walls. The colors on my index finger are China Glaze- Dance Baby (Electropop 2012) and China Glaze- Def Defying (Cirque De Soleil 2012). Middle finger: Def Defying again and OPI- Fly (Nicki Minaj 2012). Ring Finger: Fly again and OPI- Planks A Lot (Pirates of the Caribbean 2011). And the pinky is the same purple and pink again, so are the dots.
These colors were very easy to work with for water marbling. I know it is hard to find colors that work and spread evenly on the surface of the water. These were perfect, except you can tell the pink didn't spread as well, but that isn't a problem.
Hope you enjoyed these! I don't want to take it off!
Fabulous marble! It looks just like the dress! Great job.
ReplyDeleteThanks! I always try to be as accurate as possible!
DeleteHow funny! My first thought was "Oooh, psychadelic!" :) Nice!
ReplyDeleteWell that's good it reads 60's for sure then! I want to see you try a water marble
DeleteThis looks stunning! Love the colour combo,
ReplyDeleteif you are after a red creme I recommend Butter London's 'Pillar Box Red'.
Enjoy your weekend :)
I normally buy Butters' unique shades, they are too expensive to get an ordinary shade! I think I'll try out a China Glaze one. Thanks for the suggestion though!
DeleteOMG! Kiddo - you need to own a red cream! I probably have more red than any other shade in my collection - reds always are in style. So rush out and get a great red right now...if you don't think you are a red gal, pick one that looks good for toes and grow with it...figure out if you are a warm or a cool red and get ready to fall in love! BTW - love your WM here and so fun to see the marbled dress - I lived in the 60's - HS and college yrs and I do recall fabrics like this. My mom sewed (did not pass it on to me despite she tried)...so I had a lot of time I spent in the fabric stores picking out things for mom to make long dresses for me - so how come I hate wearing Maxi's now when they were a go to think for me from about 65 on?
ReplyDeleteI love this watermarble. The colors look gorgeous together! My watermarbles never look this good - I think it's because I use cheap polish since it wastes so much. :P
